Tracy Gates BSc, ACA

Tracy Gates qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Smith & Williamson in 2001 and spent the following 13 years in audit, most recently with Grant Thornton. In 2014, she transitioned into the healthcare industry, joining Medivet, a national veterinary group, as Financial Controller. Over a seven-year tenure with the company, Tracy progressed to Head of Finance and subsequently Head of Corporate Finance, playing a key role in the integration of M&A activities and overseeing all financial and taxation matters of the group. She remained with Medivet until its sale to CVC Capital Partners in 2021.

Since leaving Medivet, Tracy has held several CFO positions within the healthcare sector, spanning dentistry, cosmetic surgery and aesthetics. All of these businesses were private equity backed, multi-site organisations. Across these roles, she has been instrumental in helping companies evolve from founder-led enterprises driven by inspiring entrepreneurs into professionally managed, growing and successful corporates, an experience she is both proud of and passionate about.

Outside of work, Tracy enjoys spending time with her two teenage daughters, two cocker spaniels and one very elderly cat. She is also an avid cricket and Formula 1 enthusiast.
